Usain Bolt holds the world record in the 100M of 9.58 which he set in Berlin in 2009. The silver medalist in the race, the aforementioned Yohan Blake, had a time of 9.75 and the bronze medalist, Justin Gatlin of the U.S. clocked in at 9.79. In fact, seven of the runners ran a sub-10 second time; with the injured Asafa Powell coming in at 11.99
After the race, the 25-year-old, 6-foot-four tall Usain Bolt spoke of his victory in a press conference, in which he revealed he had eaten McDonald?s food prior to the race; ?Don?t judge me,? he said of it. He said of his slow start in the race:
?I think I sat in the block a little,? he explained on BBC. ?I don?t think I had the best reaction in the world.?
He had the best philosophy. His coach drilled a simple maxim into him, one that would explain away those weak starts with the promise of the furious finale.
?Stop worrying about the start, the best part of the race is the end,? Bolt explained.
He later Tweeted about the race, and his legendary status, referring both to an interview with CNN?s Piers Morgan and Morgan?s Tweet:
?You called it man..@piersmorgan: BBC MAN: ?You?re a legend..? USAIN: ?Alright.? Exit.? he wrote.
