World Series of Fighting holds its first international event on Dec. 7 in Vancouver, Canada, and Nick Newell will be one of the attractions in the main card.
WSOF officially announced on Thursday that undefeated "Notorious" returns to the cage against 28-year-old Canadian Sabah Fadai.
Undefeated in 10 MMA bouts, Newell debuted in WSOF last August with a first-round submission win over Keon Caldwell. "Notorious" has stopped nine of his ten previous opponents, with seven submissions and two knockouts.
Fadai, a 7-2 lightweight from Team Mamba, has earned stoppages in all of his seven victories. His last fight took place at Maximum Fighting Championship 35 last October, when he submitted Cody Krahn with a triangle choke in 85 seconds.
"I'm so honored to be part of WSOF's first event in Canada," Newell stated in a release. "The opportunity to grow with this company on an international level is amazing. I'm expecting Fadai to bring it, and I can't wait to have my arm raised Dec. 7."
WSOF 7 is headlined by the light-heavyweight showdown between Anthony Johnson and Mike Kyle. Middleweights Elvis Mutapcic and Jesse Taylor battle in the co-main event for a spot in the middleweight tournament final against Dave Branch, who defeated Danillo Villefort in the other semifinal.
